Hearing Aid Evaluation

If you feel that you may be a candidate for hearing aids a comprehensive hearing evaluation is the first step. The hearing evaluations starts with a thorough case history which will include questions about the potential reason for your hearing loss, how long you have had a hearing problem, family history of hearing loss, list of medication, tinnitus and experience with dizziness/vertigo.

The hearing test results will reveal the degree and type of hearing loss and provide a visual configuration of what sounds you are missing or hearing. If the findings of the hearing test reveal a permanent hearing loss, hearing aids will be recommended. We will start by explaining the results of the hearing test to you in detail so that you understand what sounds you are missing and where/how a hearing aid will help. During this appointment the hearing professional will also calibrate a demo hearing aid for your hearing needs to try on in the office. It is best that you have a 3rd party present at this appointment to have a familiar set of ears during the live demonstration of the hearing aids. Your hearing professional will help you choose the best hearing aid(s) style, features and level of sophistication based on your degree of hearing loss, lifestyle, and financial circumstances. The final decision on which hearing aid(s) is purchased is your choice.
